หลังจากที่ Microsoft ได้สร้างระบบ Backwards Compatible หรือระบบที่ทำให้เกมเก่าของ Xbox 360 สามารถเล่นบน Xbox One ได้ PS4 ก็ไม่ยอมน้อยหน้าพัฒนาระบบที่ทำให้เกม PS2 สามารถเล่นบน PS4 ได้ เรียกกันว่าย้อนวัยกันไปเลยทีเดียว
จริงๆ แล้วใน PS2 ก็เคยทำระบบนี้มาแล้วโดยสามารถนำแผ่น CD เกม PS1 มาเล่นใน PS2 ได้ ทำให้หลายคนช่นชอบเป็นอย่างมาก

เป็นที่น่าเสียดายเล็กน้อยที่เกมทั้งหมดนี้เราจะต้อง “ซื้อใหม่” เท่านั้น ถึงแม้เราจะมีแผ่นเกมอยู่ก็ตาม ซึ่งหากเปรียบเทียบกับระบบของ Microsoft ที่สามารถนำแผ่น Xbox 360 มาใส่แล้วเล่นได้เลยนั้น ต้องบอกว่า PS4 ยังตามหลัง Xbox One อยู่มากครับในเรื่องนี้
